Currently, my hair is colored, on the drier side and is lusciously long with extensions.
What I need is a gentle shampoo and conditioner that won’t strip the moisture and color from my hair or cause damage to my extensions. If you’re good to your hair, your hair will be good to you.
First off, here’s a sneak peek of my extensions. I got them done at Phresh Spa Salon. Phresh will be offering the extensions service this fall, and I was able to try them out before they are launched. More details to come! So far, I’m LOVING them!
Okay, back to the hair care.
It was suggested that I use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to take care of my tresses. Sulfates can dry out your hair and strip that beautiful color that you pay good money for. The only hair type that sulfate-free isn’t great for is those that tend to get really oily.
I started using the Bumble and Bumble Color Minded shampoo and conditioner and besides loving the fragrance of it, it leaves my hair silky smooth and soft. I tend to go for overly moisturizing products because my hair is thick and color treated and was worried that this product duo wouldn’t offer enough moisture, but I was proven wrong.
What I’ve found is that most sulfate-free shampoos don’t lather up, but this one gets super thick and foamy. Because I only wash my hair twice a week, I always shampoo twice and follow with conditioner from mid-shaft to the ends. The Color Minded conditioner can also be used as a hair mask. Leave it on for 10 minutes (or overnight like me) and your locks will thank you.
