I discovered a new hair product line when I was in Denver visiting my sister a few weeks ago. I was lured in by the great packaging – I’m a sucker for pretty things.
Meet R+Co (Rogue & Company). This line was created by three industry pros: Howard McLaren (former creative director of Bumble & Bumble), Garren (a high-fashion-magazine favorite), and Thom Priano (men’s hair guru and the go-to stylist for Abercrombie & Fitch and Calvin Klein). Together this fab trio collaborated and now have a fab line of shampoos, conditioners and styling products. The best part; the pricing ranges from $20-$29 (which seems like a steal when you are used to Oribe; which has the parent company).
Well, I had to try a few products and chose the Atlantis Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner along with the Park Avenue Blow out Balm.
ATLANTIS Moisturizing Shampoo ($28/8.5oz)
Just as it says, it’s a moisturizing shampoo. It’s meant for thick, coarse, dry hair. However, my hair is all of these, but I felt like this could easily be an everyday shampoo (if you wash everyday). It’s very gentle, light and will not weigh the hair down. Did I mention the scent? It’s pretty much amazing and is a blend of bergamot, wild fig, cyclamen, lotus flower, cedarwood and tonka beans.
ATLANTIS Moisturizing Conditioner ($28/8.5oz)
The ATLANTIS conditioner is obviously the perfect complement to the shampoo. I expected it to be heavier because it’s for dehydrated hair, but to my surprise it’s nice and light just like the shampoo. The scent is the same as the shampoo – so good!
PARK AVE Blow Out Balm ($28/5oz)
This is the ultimate in smoothing the hair for the perfect blow out. Now, I love a good blow out and this balm will help you fool everyone into thinking you just came from the salon. I applied it after my leave-in conditioner and round brushed my hair. It literally was perfection. It does provide a tiny bit of hold, but I opted for a spritz of hair spray afterward to keep my style all day. Again, they nailed the scent on this one as well, it’s an earthy blend with sicilian lemon, tangerine, eucalyptus, green tea, tree moss and crisp amber.
All of their products were formulated without parabens, sulfates, mineral oil and petrolatum. They are also vegan, gluten free, cruelty free and color safe. Fun fact – the fragrances of all the products were created by the same team that’s responsible for Oribe’s signature scent.
I can’t wait to explore more of the line. I’m especially looking forward to trying the dry shampoo, and the shine and smoothing line.
