If you follow my Instagram, you are well aware that I was away on vacation for the last week.
My husband and I paid a visit to Playa Del Carmen where we met up with his parents and aunt and uncle. I had never been to Playa (only Cabo a couple of times) and this was my husband’s first trip to Mexico.
A week away is always perfect. After seven days, I’m “almost” ready to make my way back to the tundra that Minnesota is offering up.
We stayed at the Royal Haciendas (my husband’s parents have a time share there), just north of Playa. It was a 5-10 minute cab ride from the city scene. It’s a beautiful resort with enough space to find privacy when you need…which I do.
We spent a few days lounging around the pool, a day in Cozumel, a day in Playa, a day of snorkeling, and plenty of evenings in town for good eats. The last day I hit the spa to refresh my mani and pedi before heading back home.
Some of the highlights include:
The beaches, of course.
Dinner in a cave. Alux Restaurant.
Hanging out at the resort.
A Cacoa Café!
We spent a lot of time walking the beaches, checking out the city and relaxing.
I was pretty excited to get home because on Friday, my sister-in-law and brother welcomed twins and it was my nephew’s 2nd birthday. What a relaxing, yet exciting week!
Time to get back to the grind!
