Fastest weekend ever – to Denver and back.
It’s always nice to get out of town for the weekend. Last weekend my husband (the beer lover) and I headed to Denver to visit my sister and brother-in-law; Jasmin and Kyran.
We packed a lot into just a couple of days. We arrived on Friday around 1ish. After getting settled in, my sister mentioned Coors Brewery and my husband’s eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. So, off we went to tour the Coors facility.
After a few hours (much of this time was spent in the gift shop because my husband needed to find the “perfect” beer shirt), we headed back to the house. It was a quick shower and then off to sushi. Jasmin and Kyran know that the key to my heart is a good sushi roll and Izakaya didn’t disappoint.
The next morning Jasmin was knocking on my bedroom door at 6:15am. Time to get up and get out the door for some good hiking. We packed our Camelbacks and off we went.
It was a beautiful hike with a gorgeous mountain and lake view at the top. On our way home we hit up a little brewery for some lunch. The two hour drive home consisted of my sister and I killing it in music trivia. I’m not gonna lie, we’re good. Real good. Don’t mess with us and our music knowledge.
Later that day we headed to this great spot called Punch Bowl Social. PBS is such a great place. You can eat, drink and have fun. They have all kinds of games like bowling, ping pong, arcade games, shuffle board, darts and more. Jasmin and I ordered a punch cocktail and it literally came out in a large punch bowl.
You can see the punch bowl in the background. Nom.
After a few ping pong matches and me begging my husband to get me a ping pong table (I’m okay with getting rid of our basement living area furniture), we grabbed some pizza. The day caught up with us and when we got home it was bed time (well, for my sister and I anyway).
The next day would be short and sweet since we were leaving. Brunch and a bit of Vikings game was all we could get in before getting on the plane.
The trip was short, sweet and fun.
Thanks to Jasmin and Kyran for having us.
xoxo,
Jeanna
