Before my trip to St. John for my sister’s wedding, I needed a little extra face TLC. I knew Maggie over at Complexions on Carter Skincare Boutique in St. Paul could work her magic to make my face “wedding ready”. Yes, I know it wasn’t my wedding, but I was the Maid of Honor.
I was still dealing with this odd flaking on my forehead. I thought the dermaplaning had taken care of it, but it reappeared.
I sent her pictures to forewarn her. She had to know what she was dealing with. She had a plan of action and some new gadgets to use. New gadgets? I was ready even if my forehead wasn’t.
Since I was heading for the sunshine and couldn’t do any major peels, I was the perfect candidate for her new Ultrasonic Skin Spatula. It’s a device that uses ultrasound vibration to gently lift the top layer of dead skin cells away from the face. It also uses sound waves to help all those good products penetrate the skin. A gentle peel and deep hydration is a recipe for perfection (for my skin, anyway).
She also pulled out the big guns for my zit that decided to pay me visit. The ClearTouch Lite (CTL), or I like to call it the zit zapper, uses heat and light energy to kill acne causing bacteria and reduce inflammation in the skin and glands. You can feel it working with it’s zapping heat. I’ll tell you this, two days later and that pimple was outta here. Where was this machine when I was in high school?
I’m loving her new gadgets. It’s been almost two weeks since my facial and the flaking hasn’t reappeared and I’m still acne free. Woohoo. I’d say that facial was a success. Let’s be honest – all facials are great, but when you experience a skin transformation, it’s incredible.
Maggie is currently including these treatments in her already amazing facials, for now. So, it would be smart to book soon while they are complimentary with your facial. You will not be disappointed. She’s incredible and will have you feeling relaxed, renewed and absolutely glowing.
