My top 5 facial moisturizers.

My top 5 facial moisturizers.

Let’s expand on my last post about dry skin. I gave you tips on ways to keep those scales away. I offered a few of my fave body products. Now, let’s talk face.

Image skincare is always on the top of my list.

Image Vital C Hydrating Repair Cream ($45)

vital c repair cream
This ultra-hydrating, Vitamin C & Anti-Oxidant rich emollient formula is our most remarkable crème yet! Combats the visible effects of stress, fatigue, smoking & other dehydrating environmental factors.

Love this cream. Smells citrusy, leaves skin smooth and hydrated. It’s a cream, but not overly heavy. Use it day or night. I get mine at Complexions on Carter in St. Paul or CorePower Yoga in Edina, but you can find it online as well.

Image – the MAX crème

Image the max cream

The MAX creme™ is one of the first crèmes available in the  marketplace today incorporating two different strains of plant derived  stem cells in one revolutionary formula to prevent and reverse the signs of aging. Unmatched in the MAXimum concentration of active ingredients, this crème repairs cell damage, protects against free radical damage  and recreates the extracellular matrix to maintain a healthy structure  of the skin.

This is a great night time cream. Still leaves you feel hydrated in the morning. I also get this one at Complexions on Carter or CorePower Yoga Edina, but you can find it online as well.

On a budget? Simple Vital Vitamin Day Cream is a great option ($9.97)

Simple Vital Vitamin Day Cream

2 added vitamins: Pro-Vitamin B5 known to help restore, soften and smooth; Vitamin E known to moisturize and improve skin condition. 3 skin-loving ingredients: Glycerin hydrates and nourishes; Allantoin helps soften; Bisabolol helps soothe and calm.

It’s simple. It’s moisturizing. It’s inexpensive. Get yours at Target, Walgreens, CVS…most drugstores will carry this line.

Eminence – Tomato Day Cream ($66)

Tomato-sun-cream

Eminence Tomato Sun Cream SPF 16 keeps the complexion hydrated and protected from the sun’s harmful rays. Its hydrating formula improves the complexion’s moisture retention while reducing skin redness and inflammation. Your complexion will be calmed and soothed with each use.

This cream is AMAZING in the morning. It wakes you up with a cooling effect on the skin. I get mine at Extrados in Minneapolis, but find it online as well.

Prefer an oil? It’s winter, go ahead and layer an oil underneath that night moisturizer.

Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics – Vitamin C Active Moisture Serum ($68)

Vitamin C oil

This 100% active face serum uses a potent mix of antioxidants to naturally brighten and replenish skin for a more radiant, even-toned complexion. An ultra-concentrated combination of vitamins A, C, D, & E and antioxidants from organic green tea oil and supercritical sea buckthorn oil help protect against free radicals that can cause photo damage and skin discoloration. Rich in the rare fatty acid Omega 7 and Omega 3, 6, 9 fatty acids, this serum helps to restore moisture levels and helps to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

I’m out, I need more. Order yours online.

I know I said “top 5”, but this list would not be complete without my favorite luxury moisturizer. I’ve talked about it before, and here I am again. I know it’s spendy, but it’s so great….but that’s also why I gave you options.

La Mer – Crème de la Mer ($155)

creme de la mer

La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream Smooth, Weightless Cream delivers miraculous benefits. The luxurious formula penetrates deeply to replenish moisture and strengthen skin. Renewed and energized, skin looks youthfully radiant.

A little goes a long way. Wear it day or night. Get it at Blue Mercury, Nordstrom or online.

There you are – my fave winter moisturizers for normal to dry skin. We are there, our skin is feeling it, so take good care of it.

xoxo,

Jeanna

Ooo. I love corepower edina, and citrus is always a favorite of mine. But when I was at galleria last I did spend some time in blue mercury debating the la mer cream (and I do have a $200 visa gift card coming my way)….I might have to splurge!

Katie – See if you can sample it first. Make sure you love it before you spend the $$. That’s what I did.
