Okay, ladies (and gents), you can thank the Shops at West End for this one. Their latest and greatest opening is Haute Barre.
I’ve raved about barre classes before – I love the workout. If you aren’t familiar with barre , it’s a workout that brings together elements of pilates, ballet, modern dance and yoga all while madly working the core. A mix of strength training, isometric holds and tiny pulses make the class fly by. Often you will find that each instructor will bring a different twist to their class. Some will emphasize more of a dance approach, while others will bring in some cardio. But trust me, any class you go to is guaranteed to make you shake like crazy, burn the glutes, and work the entire body.
I had the pleasure of visiting Haute Barre this past weekend. I immediately felt at home when I was welcomed by Amber, the owner. She was super sweet and told me about all the classes they had to offer. I took the “haute-SHAKE-IT” class that was lead by the amazing Zoe. It was nice to see a such a turnout for an early Sunday morning class – especially since they’ve only been open for a couple of weeks.
The class was everything I had hoped for – a whole lot of shaking, burning and sweating. I felt like there wasn’t a single muscle that was untouched. When I left, I felt energized and ready for the rest of the weekend.
Haute Barre offers classes at all times of the day, every day of the week. There is something for everyone. Try the original barre class – haute SHAKE-IT or turn up the heat with some high intensity intervals in the haute HYBRID class. Check out their website for descriptions of all classes and to sign up online.
They also have sweet little “two-for-one” special for Mother’s Day! Bring your mom, sister, or grandmother on May 11th or 12th and their class is free. See link for details.
So, go get your shake on at Haute Barre!
