Lovely Saturday – with a trip to Blowdry!

Lovely Saturday – with a trip to Blowdry!

Saturday was a.c.t.i.o.n. packed. My mom was in town, so we met up with my sister and got a quick pedicure and then did a little shopping over at Southdale. I am looking forward to the finished look of the facelift that Southdale is getting. I usually avoid that mall, but it seems as though they are really trying to step up their game. The best part of the renovation is Sephora! It’s true, it will be open by November. In my opinion, there should be a Sephora on every corner, kind of like Starbucks.

After the mall visit, I parted ways with my fam and went to Uptown to meet my girlfriend, Wendy. I have been dying to test drive a blowout from Blowdry! Blowdry Bar. I happened to arrive a little early, so where else would I go besides Covered? I picked up some new sunnies and a bracelet while sipping some champagne with Biddy (my favorite Covered Girl).  Next up, beautifying time. Blowdry! has a clean, trendy, colorful, and welcoming atmosphere. I loved the colors – pink, green, and white. Wendy and I were paired up with Maureen and Michael – both were great. First, we were treated to a nice neck, shoulder and scalp massage. I wanted to melt into a puddle. Next, it was the shampoo and conditioning. Note: their products are vegan. I appreciate that. After my washing, Michael transformed my hair into a ‘do that was perfectly sleek with some wave. Wendy had the perfect balance of sleekness and volume. We looked fantabulous. If you aren’t sure what kind of look you desire, they offer a lookbook of different styles to choose from. The 60-minute transformation is $35 (or $30 each if you book with someone). I suggest making an afternoon or evening out of it. Go get beautifed, then head to dinner or cocktails. That’s exactly what we did.

Wendy & Jeanna looking fab!

The next stop was Stella’s for some rooftop mojitos. For dinner, we headed over to Sushi Tango and loaded up on spring rolls and sushi yumminess. As we strolled through Calhoun Square after dinner, we decided to head into ComedySportz. I forgot how hilarious improv is. I couldn’t stop laughing. It.was.good.

We had a such a blast with it all. So, go ahead and treat yourself to a day/afternoon/evening of fun in Uptown. Start off with your blowdry and see where it takes you. Did I mention you can book your appointment online? Easy.

Happy week!
